When I saw Parish at 8, I was like “WHAT?!?” Then name after name I was like “oh ok, yeah i agree..” Man the Celtics were/are really that great. Mr. Russell = GOAT

Not mentioned in either this listing nor the Hoops Manifesto write-ups on the greatest Celtics is the fact that Bill Russell was the greatest shot blocker of all time.
In fact, he was the only player I ever saw who could control a blocked shot so that he could grab it out of the air and throw a long pass down the court to Sam/KC/Havlicek for a layup for a virtual 4-point play. I can never remember listening to the radio (most games were not televised back then) or watching a game where the opposing team could get an offensive rebound in the final 2 minutes with the game on the line.
