Quick take on Jared Sullinger – he’s going to be good, but he’s too heavy for his own good. Needs to drop a few pounds. Fifteen would be a good start, and then we’re reevaluate and go from there. For an undersized player (for his position) such as Sullinger, speed and quickness are at a premium. We can see in the first two games, against OKC and Brooklyn, than Sullinger is a skilled offensive player. But he’s also playing against a lot of guys who won’t go any further than summer league.
What’s going to happen when Sullinger tries to do his thing against the best in the league?
I’m not knocking or doubting Sullinger, because I believe he’s going to be a very good player and a very nice fit for this Celtics team. But if he’s really going to make an impact, we need him to lose the baby fat and to hit the weight room before camp starts this fall.
