On Thursday, news spillled out of the blogosphere that the Boston Celtics aquired shooting guard Courtney Lee from the Houston Rockets in a sign-and-trade trade deal for E’Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson, Sasha Pavlovic and Sean Williams, plus a couple of draft picks. SG was the next priority for Danny Ainge, after signing restricted free agent Jason Terry. And in my opinion, both of these players are pieces that the Celtics need if they’re going to win Banner 18 anytime soon.
The first move came in June, when Ainge went after Terry, a retricted free agent with the Mavericks. Doc Rivers did his part in the selling of the Celtics, telling Terry that he was the team’s number one off-season priority. Dallas decided to let him go by not matching the offer. So now we’ll get to see Terry, a former Sixth Man of the Year, in green and white, at the opening of the 2012-2013 regular season. This deal went down before Ray Allen decided to take his talents to the defending champs; you have to give Ainge credit for planning ahead, and for moving quickly to secure the talents of a player like Terry.
After news broke that Bradley won’t be ready for the start of upcoming season, Ainge knew that the Celtics needed another shooting guard. Dallas signed Ainge’s favorite available free agent, O.J. Mayo, leaving him to hone in on Courtney Lee. Ainge made sure that Lee wasn’t going to slip through the team’s fingers., and this signing looks more and more like smart move by the Boston Celtics organization.
Now Terry can return to his preferred sixth man role, Courtney Lee will be the starting until Bradley returns, and we have successfully replaced Ray Allen.
So will the Celtics be making any additional player moves. Are there any moves you’d like to see them make? Sound off and let us know what you think!

Great moves, good draft-but we really need a good defensive center behind KG. Too bad that they didn’t get Camby with Lee from Houston, but if he didn’t want to be in Boston maybe that’s for the best. How important is team chemistry? If you watched the Celts in the playoffs and saw the guts they played with you know. That’s why if Ray Allen doesn’t want to be here then I’m glad he’s leaving. No hard feeling and thanks for all you did while you were here.
Well Steve, the Celtics did what you said in your comment, the Celtics just signed 7′ veteran Jason Collins who is known for his great defense. Your wish is the Celtics command!! Kindof
