The news on the street is that the Boston Celtics will be opening the season against the defending champs - the team that stole Ray - those dreaded Miami Heat. We all know that this is what everyone wants. Ray in a Heat uniform only adds spice to a great rivalry. It would be more exciting for Celtics fans if the game were held in Boston, but that’s the way it goes.
Still, Celtics fans should be pumped up for this game – and not only fans in the Boston area, I’m talking about Celtics fans across Celtic-Nation. The game will feature the debut Courtney Lee and Jason “JET” Terry in Celtics uniforms, and this is definitely something that fans want to see. And then there’s Ray Allen. Sounds like he’s going to wear his old #34, only this time in a Miami Heat uniform. I only have one word for the way I feel about that…..ugghhh.
This game will likely feature the two favorites to meet in the Eastern Conference Finals. It should be a very very successful season for both clubs, and anything less than a championship will be considered a disappointment. Both teams will give it everything they have in this game, so expect a quality battle between conference rivals.
Also, there is one more thing that I would like to mention: The pressure is on Ray Allen, because he’s the one who betrayed his Celtics family and decided to pursue a championship with the enemy. Well, this season things are going to be different. This time our Celtics are going to beat the Heat on opening night, and also in the Eastern Conference Finals. That’s right, I said it. Our Celtics are going to play the Heat in the ECF once again, except that this time our Celtics will be younger and healthier. And when it’s all said and done, Ray Allen will be on the losing end of the ECF all over again. I guarantee it.
