Get ready for a two-headed monster, Boston Celtics fans! Jason Terry and Courtney Lee are going to bring a nice one-two punch to the rotation, providing Doc Rivers with players who can score the basketball off the dribble. No question, this was an area that needed addressed during the offseason. Danny Ainge went out and did just that, somehow landing two backcourt players who can not only get their shots off, but who can create their own shots with the clock winding down.
Last season, Paul Pierce was the only player on the roster who could do that consistently – and Pierce was up-and-down much of the year due to injuries. Suddenly, Rivers has two other players he can turn to during crunch time.
Terry is a proven player who excels in the clutch. Lee is a young player just coming into his own, long and lean and able to handle the basketball. Both players are also very unselfish, so they should coexist quite nicely with established stars such as Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo.
And as I analyze all of the changes Ainge has engineered, bringing in these two players has the potential to help the Celtics the most.
Can’t wait to see them in action!
