Another exhibition game, another gem from Jared Sullinger. Ladies and gents, I officially declare Sully the steal of the draft.
You’ve got to like what you’re seeing in Sullinger – the man is playing the game as if he were meant to be here all along. It’s not happening too fast for him. He has a feel for the game that just comes naturally. Against Emporio Armani on Sunday night, Sullinger seemed to be in the right position on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. He still needs to learn when to kick the ball out, especially when he has the ball on the block and his defender is longer and bigger, but that will come with time.
All you need to know right now is that Sullinger is playing smart, playing hard, and has quickly earned the respect of Kevin Garnett – no small feat in and of itself.
What does this mean for the Celtics? Plenty, baby. Young, skilled, smart and active – it’s exactly the perfect blend for a team in need of a frontcourt infusion, and the fact that Sullinger is playing the game like a seasoned vet is icing on the cake.
