Turns out everyone – including you and me – were focusing on the wrong thing when it came to the Celtics’ strength. All we’ve heard about this season has been depth, depth, depth. Well, tonight it was all about balance – as in six players scoring in double-figures in a 99-81 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
This, my friends, is what Danny Ainge envisioned when he put this team together. Shooters all over the place, offensive talent across the board.
Until now, consistency has been the problem – the Achilles Heel that kept this team from realizing its full potential. Well, tonight everyone showed up, everyone was on the same page, and everyone contributed to a convincing win – the first of the post-Rondo era.
We’ll forget for a moment that Jared Sullinger on played four minutes before sitting with back spasms. Right now we’ll enjoy a big win at home, and a possible glimpse of things to come.
