I just heard while watching the Bruins game that there are rumors that teams are calling Ainge inquiring about Pierce:

We're looking bad enough that the Celts look like a lost cause. They should play better with more time building chemistry, but nobody thinks the Celtics will improve enough to be championship contender this year under any circumstances, unless the top teams in the league secede from the NBA and form their own league.

We don't know who's calling so we don't know what are the possible offers. But would you pull the trigger?

I'd trade KG before Pierce, but there probably arent many suitors for him.

On a practical basis Garnett can't be traded. The sorts of deals available for him are to bad teams with shitty contracts to unload, and if you do that then you can forget about any free agent signing here until Ainge & the ownership are gone. The value on Pierce and Allen are draft picks you can buy.

At this point they have one trade asset left, and it's Rondo. And his value is imploding as the league is getting a first hand look at what a team whose best player is Rondo is like, which limits interest to teams with the multiple stars/all star necessary for him to have any utility.

CNNSI has put its own spin on the state of the Celtics, and sounds off on whether Ainge should blow up the team:
