View Full Version : Eric Bledsoe?
I keep seeing Eric Bledsoe being mocked in the late first and early second. The C's have a huge need at backup pg, and general 6th man combo guard... I think he'd be a great fit. Could be a Bobby Jackson type for this team.

If we pick up another 2nd rounder or he falls to us at 52 maybe. No way can you take him at 19. I think we can legitimately get a future starter at 19. This draft is deep at wing. I've seen several mocks with Xavier Henry or Paul George falling into the late teens. Either of those guys would be amazing to grab at 19. However, it's probably more likely that we get Luke Babbitt or Gordon Hayward. Though, who knows if Danny has a sleeper up his sleeve. I trust that guy's scouting instincts.

What about Stanley Robinson? I can't follow college ball, but might he be that power 3 Danny has been searching for a couple of years?

I don't think he'd be a good choice for us at 19 since we need to either go big (Orton/Alabi/Whiteside) or a wing player like James or Anderson who can bring some scoring and athleticism. Vct33 is right that we need to view the player we pick at 19 to be a future starter, even if they start out as a project. This is a team that is already rebuilding as the Big Three are not what they used to be and probably won't be together next season, but even if they are, we need to get new players to take over their positions in the years to come.
Bledsoe won't make it past the first round or the top of the second at best, but that's OK, we need an experienced veteran backup PG not a rookie project.

I think Robinson is one of those players with lots of athleticism but is a little short on his concentration and BB/IQ and may never be able to channel that athleticism into NBA skills. He's also had some off court issues which bring his character into question. If he's there at 52 then he might be worth a shot, but not at 19. His future in the NBA appears to be very cloudy, but every once in a while a guy like him turns the corner and becomes a good player, but the risk is too high to spend a mid-first round pick on him.
