I thought the C's should have picked up Barnes as the Posey replacement last year. He's opting out of his contract now, and could be a great option to solve some problems the C's tend to have since they lost Posey.

The problem with pursuing Barnes in free agency is that we'd have to use a good deal of our MLE to sign him, whereas the C's have Bird Rights to Tony Allen. With Tony playing his best ball since 2006-2007 the team would mostly likely be best served bringing him back next season and using the MLE to address the back-up point guard position(possibly bringing back Nate, whose Bird Rights we do not have).
