Despite the Celtics' recent struggles, and despite the Huskies' recent struggles, everything will be fine in the basketball world as long as the Celtics can win this game. BEAT L.A.

Lakers by at least 15.
We're old, slow and have no bench.
Glen Davis will eat leather at least 4 times today, trying to finish in the paint.
Perkins will turn the ball over EVERYTIME the offense is initiated through him on the low block.
KG will drag his leg up and down the court and then post game, the team will tell us he's just "fine".
Bill Walker will remain planted on the bench so that Doc can grind Pierce and Ray into dust.
Sheed will jack at least 6 threes and get one technical.
And as a team, the Celtics will be concerned more with whining to the refs about fouls instead of actually playing the game.

Said team needs to show something on the court in order for one to have confidence/faith.

i must agree with setshot.
Three things holding the Celtics together. KG's knee brace, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo.

judging from his post count and his extreme pessimism I dont think the Celtics are really his team, anyhow its a long season, stuff happens, as long as they can recuperate by the near end or in the playoffs thats fine by me, they dont have to go Cleveland on us that wins 70 games but loses to a championship contender.
Going to be a great game today - we're going to put the world back on its axis by beating the Lakers!

Rondo -- Tony Allen -- PP had great 1st halfs! Tony Allen gave them the Spark, and stayed IN FRONT of Kobie. Rondo showed how weak the Lakers are at the Point. He is keeping everyone involved.PP hit the (3) "3"'s.
Keep it up for the next 24 minutes.

WOOHOO! Another choke job.
This is what you get when you go away from what got you the big lead. No TA no Rondo, just a bunch of slow players and stagnant offense. Doc Rivers = dog crap.
Well....
I am starting to avoid watching Celtic games...
Kevin Garnett - a shell of what he was in 2008... should join the cheerleaders on the side-line... that is his new capacity...
Ray Allen - A shell of what he used to be as well... hes going to be traded or will retire after the season if no one else wants him.
Paul Pierce - Still a good player... but hes knee is still all tore up from that nice steroid shot they gave him in the NBA finals 2008 game 1.
Our team is mediocre at best, and are HORRID closers... I may just have to refrain from watching any more C's games due to the fact I get way too angry.... *Sigh* back to the whole "do you remember those days" mentality, we arent winning a championship ANY time soon with what we have right now... and being as though we practically traded our soul to get Garnett and Allen, it wont be for quite a while.

Well, what are you going to do?
Though I understand the frustration, I'm surprised by the overreaction and extreme negativity that's been going on here lately. We just lost to the Lakers on a bad call on a Ron Artest flop. Yeah, I know, they should have been able to close it out. You'd think this was a New Jersey site though. What were you guys saying during the 18 game losing streak?

I'm a frustrated fan. It's hard not to be after the C's give up the lead in the second half yet again. I just don't understand what the C's are doing on offense. The Lakers have no answer for Rondo or TA yet the message coming out of locker is slow the game down and run iso plays. Is this team so old it can't attack for 48 minutes?

So, you can judge all Celtics fans by the amount of posts he/she has on a message board?
How elitist of you..........

Obviously since Rajon and Perk went 5/9 FTs and sheed got a technical, that is the reason we lost, right CaptChris?

Hurdler: Did your eyes show you where Sheed spent the afternoon. He was so far from the basket that he had to use a cell phone to communicate with his teammates! He was so far away, he was running up roaming charges from a different area code.
Sheed played 21 minutes -- took (3) "3" 's -- had (1) Rebound = 3 Pts. He looked like a King Sized Eddie House! Our new back-up PG!
Let's start a pool. When will Rasheed get # 16 and get suspended? He is the best in he league - # 1.
Rajon and Perk went 5/9 at the foul line. kThat's 56 %, just a little below their average.
Tony played very well. Hope he keekps it up.
Actually I think Sheed fills a need the team has had for a long time - a replacement for Antoine Walker! - a big guy who won't go inside, and spends most of his time jacking up regretable 3-pointers. Yikes! I sure do wish Sheed would do more of his down-on-the-box moves, where he seems to be pretty effective. Too much work, I guess.
Doc Rivers reiterated a few days ago what he has said before - if a player has an open 3 and does NOT take it, he gets benched. I think the reason coaches are so in love with 3-pointers is because of the percentages. A 3 is worth 1/2 again as much as a 2 (obviously), so you could actually argue that you should take ALL 3-pointers, based on current shooting percentages.
For example, to score 100 points, you need to hit 50 2-pointers. Just say that a team shoots 50% on these. So they need to hit 50. If they took 3-pointers, they would only need to hit 34. In other words, shooting 34% on 3s is as good as shooting 50% on 2s. I haven't checked the team shooting percentages, but I think it probably works out somewhat in favor of the 3s.
I realize there are a lot of other factors involved, but I'm just saying I think they like them so much because of this percentage calculation. Me, I usually hate them (except when they go in, of course). ;)
I agree, Tony Allen played really well on Sunday. I wonder how long it will be before he re-injures himself. At least he isn't Wally Szerbiak, who used to twist his ankle while walking to the sidelines on a timeout.

Unfortunatel (or fortunately) I only saw a little bit because of other things going on. I saw most of the 2nd period until halftime. They actually played well. TA with quality players allowed him to pass out when he dribbled himself in the corner. He could concentrate on Defense and not force on offense. What stands out to me is 10pts in 9 shots and 5 TOs for KG and 7 pts on 10 shots for ray. They are getting lots of money and lots of minutes. Pierce solid but not specatular. Four of the starters are earning or promised big money, so I have big expectations for them. My criteria for TA, sheed, house, even perk are lower. Until Doc decides that Ray's contract has outlived his usefulness and brings him off the bench for 24-28 mins and KG's injuries have zapped him, otherwise I expect them to earn their pay.

You are Right! Ray should play less minutes. He has played more monutes than any other Celtic. He hasn't played up to par with all those minutes. The standing problems with Perk & Rondo st the foul line isn't going to change. Yesterday we had 19 foul shots. We made 15 -- the 4 misses were Rondo & Perk. Strange, last game we had 20 foul shots in the 3rd period. TKhen we only get 19 in the game because we didn't go to the hole.
Sheed is a waste now, and we have him for 2 more years. OUCH!

Lester Hudson. I'm glad Memphis is giving him some playing time.
