Panic... Blow up the team... Run for the hills!!!
If we can't move ray in order to make a run at a championship, this is our backup plan. (With Doc, RAy will always play 33-40 mpg and we can't win with that formula.) We take 2 players that the knicks don't want for a year off from KG's salary. In the summer of 2011 we could have virtually Rondo, sheed, and a clean slate for ainge to work with. Sign a top free agent a couple quality starters, and wrap Pierce up for the rest of his life.
Jeffries could be the pierce backup we have been missing for 2 seasons, and Curry has a chance to turn his career around in a contract year. We would be a joke for one year (instead of two), then build around rondo with a good, but fading pierce.
The knicks have tons of space this summer and KG's cap figure is about the same as curry+jeffries. But he would be more enticing to lure a lebron, wade, or joe johnson into MSG. NYK is hoping for one great free agent, one good free agent; then add in Gallinari and KG--they could make things interesting.
