I think we'd be well served shaking up the lineup a little bit for the upcoming game against New Orleans. It's the last game before the All-Star break, so it's nothing definite going forward unless it works.
What I'm suggesting Doc should do:
PG: Rondo
SG: Pierce
SF: Daniels
PF: Garnett
C: Wallace
Sixth-Man: R. Allen
First Big off the bench: Perkins
I think at this point, Daniels is more athletic than Pierce, so let Daniels do the things Pierce usually does. Paul is transitioning from more of a slasher to a shooter at this point in his career, so let him stay on the perimiter more, run him off a few screens, get him some open jumpshots. Wallace at Center, and tell him to keep his behind under the basket. No more than 2 3-pt attempts. We're much better served with Wallace under the basket.
Allen will come off the bench as our sixth-man, going up against the other team's 2nd-unit. The second unit would look like:
PG: House
SG: R. Allen
SF: T. Allen
PF: Davis
C: Perkins
I think with this, we have a good combination of shooting, interior offense, and perimiter/inside defense with Tony guarding the outside and Davis and Perk patroling the paint.
I think we need to try anything and everything at this point. The next option is a trade, and that should really be our last option.
