I hope you are aware of a band called 'The Lonely Island'. I would indeed jizz in my pants if this trade were to happen.

The only ? is Jamison who didnt look fantastic when they played the C's the other day. I still pull the trigger in a blink, I'd just swap Big Belly for Scaly to give "sweeten" the deal.
Antawn Jamison isn't a question mark, he's been having a phenomenal season. I don't think that this deal goes through simply because I think some team, somewhere is going to be able to beat our offer of expirings for their top two players, but if Ainge can get this deal on the table he needs to pull the trigger on it immediately.

I avoid this deal because Jamison isn't young, is a defensive liability and he is signed for too much money for too many years. If he was signed cheaper or wasn't as old, maybe.
And yes, "sweeten" the deal with Wanga Gut Davis, por favor.
/edit - And Adrian Wojnarowski is saying the same thing. LINK (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AiY5AL_noAQb4m3Jm1J5sCS8vLYF?slug=aw-boswastrade021210&prov=yhoo&type=lgns)
I still don't like it, even though it is a win in the talent column. Can't we give them Davis and Eddie House, as well, and take back Mike Miller?
another day, another rumor...
I'm not concerned with Jamison's deal because we're more or less handcuffed by KG and Sheed's contracts, Pierce's eventual extension, and Rondo's extension through the life of Jamison's current deal. We won't have the cap room to sign anyone, and Wyc wants Pierce retiring a Celtic so we won't be using his big expiring contract as a trade chip next season, so this is our best shot at upgrading the roster. Also, I was waiting to see how long it would take you to propose adding Miller to the trade.

Wojnarowski is considered to be a pretty reputable source, he doesnt throw things out to see if they stick, he actually does the old school reporting/research that makes him worth reading.
I think the key with Jamison is he's still hungry for a title, and in that sense, would bring some intensity. yes he's a defensive liability, but he wont be starting, so its not that bad. Length of the deal is tough, but it will eventually turn into an asset as an expiring deal.
I'd like Miller, but there's gotta be a reason he keeps moving around, is he a problem in the locker room?

ESPN just reported that this trade won't happen because of salary issues........despite this WEEI is reporting that Ainge is still in talks with the Wizards......
I'd like Miller, but there's gotta be a reason he keeps moving around, is he a problem in the locker room?
He's good enough to help a playoff team but not good enough to make any sort of difference on a bad team. He actually stuck in Memphis for five and a half seasons consecutively, but when they fell off he got used as salary in the Love-Mayo trade, and made no sense on a bad Minnesota team and so was acquired by Washington with Foye for the fifth pick to (wait for it) flesh out their roster to make them contenders. The last three years he's been a victim of circumstance more than anything else. If he's smart he'll sign wherever Lebron is next year and live off open jumpshots, a la Mo Williams.

The Globe has Ainge doing his job and denying anything is happening, which is exactly what he's supposed to say. If they can do this trade and the Baby/Augustin trade on the side, it would be a very nice setup for the next couple of years.
There are definitely salary concerns from the Celtics end as they already have $63mil on the books for next season, add the $23 mil due Butler/Jamison and they are at $86 without any true SG signed. No House, No TA, No Daniels.
But if Larry Brown is desperate for Sheed, I wouldnt hesitate if I were Danny, considering how bad that contract is looking in hindsight.

Send Sheed and Davis to Charlotte for Nazir Mohammed -- Augustin -- Graham.
Mohammed and Augustin make the same $$$$ as Sheed and Davis next year -- $9 million.
WE get a young PG and a good back-up Center.
Larry will be a Happy Camper!

Butler can always be flipped for a SG, though. Alternatively they could always inch up their offer to the $26 million mark and get Miller as a throw in (and cutting Washington's 2010 payroll by $5 million) and then try to move Butler for an expiring deal and a pick.

Butler is headed to the Mavs.

If this was offered, you JUMP at it if you're Ainge. Although I don't know how the contracts work out like WEEI said. Even if we could move Ray/Giddens for Caron, I'd do that.

Its a mess really, I think we'd be committed to $87m next year on 7 or 8 players in this specific trade.
Jamison only earns $11m, we MIGHT be able to get Miller if we threw in Big Baby with Ray?

Butler to the Mavs. So much for that deal. I would have liked it, but the more I hear about Jamison, the more I'm glad he's not gonna be in green. I think... We gotta to something though. Shake it up Danny!
