All-American honoree at New York University. Inducted into the New York University Athletics Hall of Fame (1982). Selected in the first round of the 1967 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Member of two NBA World Championship teams with the Boston Celtics (1968 and 1969). Later graduated from the Boston College School of Law. Appointed Superior Court Justice by then-governor Michael Dukakis (1986). In 1992, he was honored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association with its Silver Anniversary Top Six Award, which recognizes six individuals nationwide each year for outstanding achievement over the past 25 years in both athletic and professional endeavors.
